G.O.L.D. Kings ARI

G.O.L.D. Exhibition - Kings ARI.  Deb K Williams, Reiko Miyazawa, Georgina Ward and Alice Parker. Parker, Miyazawa, Ward and K Williams’ practices share the common ground of investigating how widely varied, even disparate materials and objects relate to each other and to the space they interrupt and re-create.  Embodied in their wide collection of cast-off materials and experimental use of handcrafted processes, is an awareness of not only the historic origin of the ‘matter’, but the importance of the mutability of its intended life, and the varying meanings the artists’ physical engagement and interpretive manipulation effects.   Image 1-4 - In the Beginning, a Puzzle.  Paper, trace, letterset, magnetic casette tape, acrylic paint, wooden frame Image 5-7 - Rubedo.  Magnetic casette tape, glitter, glue

The many processes found in 'how to texts' are used as a basis for making new hybrid forms. Creating samples and templates indicate a desire to activate the potential of patterns; the ambiguity of the object stimulates the imagination, the assortment of pattern sampled and collaged fragments suggest endless possibilities.  Image 1 Carbon Drawing Image 2 Connect Image 3-4 Ground   (detail)  Image 5 Sample Table  (detail) Image 6-7  Installation shots Image 1 Carbon Drawing Image 2 Connect Image 3-4 Ground (detail) Image 5 Sample Table (detail) Image 6-7 Installation shots
